Oarai Hotel Annex Gyoraian

It’s a small, lovely town for anyone who enjoys peaceful countryside Japan, and this hotel is a great place to stay for a quiet trip, with a nice view, clean room, and local feel. It’s across from the Shrine, with bus stops on both sides of the road nearby. Buses come every 20-30 minutes and can take you to tourist spots like the fish market and aquarium, which I really recommend. The nearest 7-11 is about 600m away. The receptionists are super friendly and helpful. Ask them for a map and suggestions for things to do around Ibaraki. One drawback is that there’s no lift, but the staff can help carry your luggage. This hotel is so underrated, highly recommended!

You have to walk a long way to the main building to use the public hot bath. The property also looks a little older than it does in the picture, though I still think it’s good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, and every room has a large window with a sea view. The hotel’s in a lovely spot on Oarai beach, with the shrine entrance gate right in front.

Every room faces Oarai Isosaki Shrine, so the view is great. The hotel has Wi-Fi in the rooms, plus a free coffee machine and snacks available 24 hours. There aren’t many charging plugs, so bring your own outlet. Breakfast is served as a set. Choose a time, 7:30, 8:00, or 8:30, and they’ll prepare it for you then. Checkout is at 10 am. Very nice stay overall, with Oarai Isosaki Shrine right there.

The room was spacious and nice, with a great view of the ocean and the torii gate. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was the one letdown, since it could be better for this price.
