Oarai Park Hotel

The ocean view and food were good enough that I'd probably stay again, but the staff made the visit unpleasant. At dinner, the waitress kept reaching across the table to clear dishes while we were still eating. The front desk staff also need to improve how they treat guests. At check-in, the woman was so cold I almost felt unwelcome. The waiting room had drinks and sparkling wine, but when I found the wine container empty and asked her about it, she said free wine wasn't included. An hour later, it was available for free, so I don't know whether she'd lied or just couldn't be bothered. At checkout, a young woman tried to charge us for drinks we hadn't ordered at dinner, then made us feel we'd done something wrong when we asked her to fix it. Maybe being a foreigner affected how we were treated, but I can't know. The room itself was great, with a nice Jacuzzi and a beautiful ocean view. Getting in and out of the Jacuzzi felt dangerous, and the bubbles blowing up from the bottom of the bath made it painful to use.

It's a quiet hotel with decent-sized rooms, and it's a popular spot for the onsen. The room price includes set breakfast and dinner. Dinner was pretty good, and the service was attentive.

The room was huge and clean, with an ocean view, and parking was free. Breakfast was delicious, and check-in and checkout were quick. There's a public bath, though the sauna is for men only. The staff were professional. You'll love it here.

The photos don't show how it really is. The furniture is VERY old and dirty, and the hotel needs a proper cleaning.
