4/10
The location is superb, the price is low, and the staff are kind. Breakfast for 550 yens was a nice offering, with bread, rice, curry, fish, chicken, and a simple salad. Still, the rooms were dirty and had several stains, and the smell wasn’t pleasant.

The morning breakfast had lots of choices and was pretty good. The hotel itself was pretty grungy, but the staff were patient and accommodating with our limited Japanese. Check-in was a challenge, and Google Translate helped a lot. The two female staff members were delightful and jovial as we worked our way through the language barrier. Their helpful, fun attitude and the reasonable price made this 2-3 star hotel feel like a 4.

The staff are friendly and nice, though the facilities are old. Three stars for a three-star hotel, and I don’t mean that negatively.

The room was unclean and had a really bad musty smell, even though the staff provided excellent service. Sorry to be so direct, but that’s the truth. I hope they improve this service in the future.

The price is good, though parking is a little inconvenient.
