Family Lodge Hatagoya Nirasaki

The rooms, bathrooms, and toilets were all clean, and the relaxed setup meant you could just do your own thing without worrying about much. It has that slightly deserted American motel feel you get at some inns, with nobody usually at the front desk, lol. Breakfast was simple and fine, though I would've liked some margarine or jam.

The spot is convenient, with a hot spring nearby and a view of Mt. Fuji. We stayed in early June 2025, around our 15th inn, and it was the 324th night of our dog's stays at 211 inns. As you'd expect from an inn, there wasn't anything especially different, though the place felt a little old. Wi-Fi was great on Docomo, au, Ymobile, and Rakuten. I forgot to check the mobile signal.

They refill the bread in the morning right away, which is impressive. I judge hostels by how quickly they top up the bread and orange juice, lol.

The rooms were really clean, and the whole place had a warm, easygoing feel. I was traveling alone, and they made space for my bicycle and explained the facilities well. After I checked in, they even put flowers in the planter outside my room. Morning coffee and bread are a real treat for bikers, and the service feels kind for what you pay. If you want higher quality, go to a proper inn. If unit baths aren't your thing, Yu-Pla Nirasaki is about a 10-minute walk away, and its hot water is very good. The hot springs area has a Hotto Motto and a roadside station, but no convenience store. Bring body lotion if dry skin is a concern.
