Ryokan Sakanaya Honten

The food, rooms, and service are all great, and the Girls und Panzer plan is a good one. You're right in the middle of a Girls und Panzer pilgrimage, close to all the good stuff.

I only had the breakfast plan, so I can't say how dinner is. It was a cheap, clean ryokan with kind staff and a large room. I was impressed by all the Darjeeling goods. Kawaii.

We booked late, so there weren't many options, and chose this hotel for a trip with a large group of friends. We got back fairly late and hadn't realized there was a 9 PM curfew, after which guests couldn't enter or leave. Showers were only available until 10 PM, though the staff kindly waited for us when we were a little late. The next morning, an announcement unexpectedly told everyone to wake up. Breakfast was at 8, and the host went door to door knocking and calling guests down. We were tired and had planned to sleep in, so being woken like that was a shock. It felt like a training camp. By the time we went upstairs for breakfast, they'd already collected all the futons, so we couldn't go back to bed afterward. If you like a strict, well-organized schedule, this place might suit you. For a relaxed stay with friends, you may want to pick another hotel.
