Dormy Inn Obihiro Natural Hot Spring

I arrived without a reservation and the reception team kindly found me a room for two nights. They communicate well and were very helpful. My room was clean, comfortable, modern, and in line with Dormy Inn standards. I liked the standing shower instead of the usual tub, and there’s also an Onsen on the second floor, with separate baths for men and women. Sleep shirts and pajamas are provided, and you can wear them to the bath. Laundry and the breakfast restaurant are on that floor too. Breakfast is reasonably priced, with Japanese and continental options, and worth getting since nearby cafes open late. For dinner, restaurant Fujimori is just a block away for butadon, and Rokkatei main store is across the street for dessert. I stayed to see Obihiro and the countryside, and felt confident I’d be happy here.

The spa was so good!!! There are lots of nice places near the hotel too. I recommend it.

The breakfast was the one real bright spot, just as yummy as at other Dormy Inn branches. The location is handy, with a big carpark and lots of stores and restaurants close by. But the room smelled like someone had just peed on the carpet, and the air-conditioner was noisy and dried the room out so much that I woke up with a sore throat after not sleeping. The public Onsen was small and crowded, and the open-air bath smelled moldy all around. Cleanliness is an area the hotel really needs to work on.

The location made things easy, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and an airport bus stop right outside. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the relaxing communal bath, plus the free mini ramen, ice cream, and drinks. The room got too warm during the day, and the hotel felt older than some other Dormy Inns I’ve stayed in, but neither spoiled my stay. I had a wonderful time at Dormy Inn Obihiro and would recommend it. I’d be glad to come back.
