We ended up booking here at the last minute because a reservation mistake left us without a hotel. It turned out amazing, maybe even better than the place we'd originally wanted. The large public bath was the best part. It stayed open until 1 am, and had shampoo and conditioner at the washing stations. The salt massage soap sold at the front desk felt incredibly refreshing, and they also had exfoliating massage gel. Dinner was a tasty bowl of ochazuke, rice with green tea. In our room we could relax with tea, coffee, black tea, and even barley tea. The free-to-borrow amenity shelf had three kinds of pillows, nail clippers, hangers, and square clips. I was especially glad to find so many hangers for drying things in the room. There was lots of manga too. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Obihiro.

The room was clean, but I was a bit confused when I arrived because I didn't realize reception was in the main building. The reception, breakfast area, and bathhouse are all there, which is inconvenient, and the parking lot is shared.

The rooms are quite small, and mine had a strange smell when I walked in. It's also a hassle to go back and forth: you check in at the main building of Hotel Grand Terrace, then have to move to another building. The public bath is in the main building as well. Next time I'd rather stay in the main building or somewhere else.

I was there during Obon and booked at the last minute, so I understood that the room would be small. But I needed to ask the front desk something after checking in, and the phone from my room was busy. When I went down in person and mentioned it, they apologized and said they'd look into it the next day. What if something had happened during my stay? They have no crisis management skills at all. I won't stay there again.

They were able to arrange a room for me quickly after a misunderstanding meant I had to leave the hot spring hotel where I was staying. I only needed a place for the night, and the annex worked out well. There was a Seico Mart nearby, along with places to eat. The annex is a separate building, so I took care of the front desk procedures at Grand Terrace in the main building. My room felt modern, and Wi-Fi was available. It was a great stay.
