It was my first stay here, in a Japanese-style room on the first floor. I initially assumed the room would be bare because the refrigerator, towels, razor, and other items were at the end of the hallway. But the room also had a small fridge, kettle, humidifier, and more, so it seems fine for a longer stay. There’s no convenience store within walking distance, which is the one downside. Otherwise, it’s perfect, and I’ll stay here again on a business trip.

The building is clearly old, though the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast had a limited selection, but freshly made items kept coming out and tasted good. The unit bath was quite small, and the shower curtain’s musty smell was disappointing. There are several public bathhouses a short drive away, so I’d use one of those instead. There’s a small fridge in the room and a bigger one in the hallway. I could use the freezer, which was handy for ice packs.
My company arranged this hotel for me. The staff were really nice and kind, but the lobby, stairwell, and room all smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which feels unusual these days. It’s right by a national highway and extremely noisy. I’d say it’s worth the price if you’re looking for somewhere cheap, but non-smokers or anyone wanting to relax should avoid it.
The nearest station is a 25-30 minute walk away, so keep that in mind if you’re coming by train. By car, it’s not a problem. The building and facilities are old, but clean, and the room had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and let us check in early. Breakfast is in the dining room. There wasn’t much choice, but the freshly cooked rice and side dishes were tasty. A coffee machine would have been nice. Next time, I’d like to have dinner there too.
I booked Marumiya for the Nagoya Motorcycle Show. I usually save money by choosing a no-meals plan, but the breakfast and dinner buffet option wasn’t too expensive, so I went with that. The food was inexpensive, and if you picked carefully it was tasty, with a good selection of protein-rich dishes. The only downside was the strong cigarette smell in the room. For smokers, that might be a plus since they can smoke freely.
