Hotel Station Inn Obu

I’ll stay here again for work. It’s a little dated, but clean, comfortable, and good quality for the price. There’s a convenience store nearby, and my room had a Type-C cable that made charging easy. I was surprised they even left snacks like bread. The first-floor shop stocks socks and underwear too, which is handy on a last-minute business trip. Breakfast was delicious. I usually stay around Handa, but I’m switching to this hotel.

The building is old, but it was well cleaned and comfortable. The station is close, though the residential area gets dark at night. The woman preparing breakfast was thoughtful and attentive. The breakfast itself had the usual choices, but somehow tasted even better. The staff serving us were all very good, so I’m giving it a high rating.

I come to Obu for work regularly and always stay here. It’s a little dated but well maintained, and the parking right by the building is a big plus. Some of it is gravel, but that makes hauling luggage much less stressful. The front desk has lots of services to choose from, and it can be hard to decide. There are plenty of amenities too, including croissants with coffee and tea. The beds are on the firm side, but the sheets are spotless. Each room has a fridge and a basic microwave, so there’s less need to go out. Charging is easy, with a dual-USB outlet on the desk, another USB outlet by the bed, and USB-C and Lightning cables. I can keep everything plugged in while using my PC, and the Wi-Fi is good enough for video without trouble. If you’re driving around Obu Station, this is a great place to stay, and I think you’ll be very satisfied.

The small toilet gets mentioned in some reviews, but even as a man I think it’s perfectly usable if you sit down. They seem to have worked out the best way to fit a toilet and bathtub into a compact space. The service is hard to complain about for the price. Every time I check in, everyone gets water and snacks, and there are croissants in the room. If I stay several nights and skip cleaning, I can trade that for a 400 yen gift at the front desk. I’ve never seen another hotel this generous, and I’ve been a regular since my first visit. At breakfast, kids can pick the dishes they like, and there’s enough variety in the side dishes that they don’t get bored and can eat as much as they want. Lately I’ve been going to Aichi Prefecture just to stay here. That’s how good this hotel is.
