Shimbashi Urban Hotel

I paid under $800 USD for a week, so this worked well for my budget as a solo traveler. The rooms are small but very clean, and at 6’1” I still found the bed large enough. Room cleaning is optional, though it has to happen at least once every 3 days. If you book for one, they won't let more than one person visit your room. I assume that's because it's mainly a business hotel. The staff don't speak English, but they try to help with requests using translation tools. They were very kind, especially the short woman working the evening of April 19th. For booking, BOOKING.COM is all you need. It's easy to get around from this accessible area, with anywhere reachable by two trains from Shimbashi station. I'd recommend the hotel to solo travelers who want to save money and don't mind a small room. I'd gladly book it again if I came back to Tokyo with a similar budget. One extra tip for visitors who don't have much good Japanese food at home: the ramen at Ichiran Shimbashi is better than most places in the U.S., and ordering in English is easy, with a non contact system for the servers. It's about half the price too. By Japanese standards, though, it might be just mid.
