Hotel Route-Inn Odate Omachi

A decent Japanese business hotel. Not bad.

Convenient and simple place to stay.

The breakfast gets replenished earlier than at other Route Inns, so it shouldn’t run out, though you have to carry your tray while serving yourself. My single room felt a little smaller than others I’ve stayed in, but I got used to it. Parking goes around the building, with entrances at both the front and back. It’s an older-style Route Inn, and the doors use cylinder keys instead of cards, so remember to lock up. The basic facilities are on the first floor and easy to use. The view at the back is a bit strange, as other people have mentioned, so ask the hotel in advance if that matters to you.

Cleaning was thorough, and the room wasn’t dirty, but the facilities themselves are old. The air conditioner is dated and its controls feel rough. You get a large key instead of a card, and there’s just one elevator, though it serves all the way up to the eighth floor.
