Hotel Posh

There’s plenty to eat nearby, plus a shopping mall, and both Odawara station and a bus stop are close. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself felt dated, though, and the soundproofing wasn’t good. We could hear people talking outside and crows, which are common in the area.

I picked this place mainly because the Odawara Hilton was full, but its location may bring me back. Odawara station is only a 3-5 minute walk away. On my business trip I also had a day to visit the Hakone Open Air Museum, which was worth the trip if you like modern sculpture. The staff were very friendly. I arrived too early to check in, so they kept my bag, and they let me check in early so it would be sorted when I returned. My room was clean but smelled of cigarette smoke, and it was reasonably quiet. The bathroom looked old but was clean, with a decent shower. Breakfast in the room was basic: bread, a banana, coffee, and hot cereal. I would stay here again.

For the price, this is great value. The hotel is cozy and well placed by the train station, with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff were really nice and helpful.

The hotel is old, but it has enough equipment for a short stay. Hygiene could be better. For Japan, though, the hotel is spacious.
