The place was super clean and well kept. After we bought cup noodles at the shop, the staff were really kind and gave us juice and cookies. Such a lovely experience!
Even just seeing an old school renovated into a facility like this is phenomenal. The dorm area, shared spaces, bathrooms, and showers were all kept very clean. It's also a great place to stay for a night or a few and try activities like BMX, diving, fishing, hiking, or even BBQ. What's available can depend on the season and weather.
The toilets were the one good thing: they were clean. Otherwise, this was the worst camping environment I've used. The listing says you can see the sea, but you mostly see the BMX course. For washing up, I was first directed to an area with a hose left attached, like a place used for chores. Then I was told the indoor kitchenette was okay, but when I went there, it was locked and unavailable. I asked where to dump the charcoal and was told to pour water on it and leave it at the edge. With dry grass and other debris there, that seemed dangerous, so I took it home myself. Hope this helps anyone considering a stay.
I really got to sink into the nostalgia here. The BMX area was good too, with several levels. It would be even better if guests could choose extra services, like free access to the BMX area for hotel guests. Fantastic place.
The classroom was warm, even though I thought it might be cold, and it was really comfortable to relax there. I also liked the atmosphere in the break room. I wanted to read every volume of AKIRA, but I'm still partway through, so I'd like to come back.
