The food was a real highlight, especially the excellent demi-glace, and the front desk staff were patient with my broken Japanese. I usually steer clear of luxury places because they can be inconvenient and disappointing, but this stay was the opposite. Getting the car into the parking lot took a little maneuvering, though the stay itself was easy and comfortable while I was traveling through Sekigahara. I was so clueless that I didn't realize it was or had been a love hotel. Guess I need to watch more anime, lol. If I'm back this way, this will be my go-to.

We had two rooms, and they were both really cool and completely different from each other. There were places to eat within walking distance, though we needed Google Translate to place our order. The onsen was a nine-minute drive away. This worked out perfectly as a stop on our road trip from Kyoto to Nagano.

I was satisfied with my stay and made it back to Korea safely. The room layout was a little complicated, which was unusual, but the clerk was very kind and actively asked if I needed anything.

The dark back entrance gave me a poor first impression when I arrived. The next day, the staff explained that the building used to be a love hotel and has since been renovated into a business hotel. That explained why the entrance was so dark.

The rooms are spacious, and since the place used to be a love hotel, the soundproofing is good. They have a plan with two meals, delivered right to your room. I picked the Japanese breakfast. It came with a big bowl of soup, three meatballs, salad, and pickled radish, but I felt there weren't enough side dishes. Still, I was satisfied.
