The room was non-smoking, but the shared area just outside the common bathroom (hot spring) wasn't. The facility looks old, though it's surprisingly well maintained and still in very good condition. WiFi was very fast. It's a 10-15 minute walk from Tsurusaki Station (JR), in what seems to be a residential area that's very quiet after dark. Nearby there's a huge second-hand manga, figure, video game, and clothing store called Manga Souko. Staff speak only Japanese, but they're very friendly.

The hotel feels dated and could use a renovation, but the onsen and staff are great. Breakfast is decent and good value for the money.

The only plus was the Onsin. The location isn't great, the rooms were dirty, and the hotel reminded me of an old high school. What a terrible place.
