The hotel's best points are its location and price. It's close enough to walk to the station, but far enough away to avoid the higher prices, and being right across from the university is handy. The rooms are very basic and the building seems old, with some cracks in the walls, though nothing made me think it was dirty or unsanitary. The keys have a ridiculously long holder that's awkward to carry, and I can't work out why. One tip: the Wi-Fi password has the wrong capitalization on the sign, it should all be lowercase. When I arrived, there was nobody at reception to check me in, so I had to call the property to get someone to come down. I speak enough Japanese to manage, but this could be a serious problem for other foreigners. If you can handle the quirks, knowing some Japanese will really help, and it's a good deal.

The laundry machine in the larger rooms is handy, but there's no drying rack, which is inconvenient. I liked the place, though sleeping on a futon on the floor was rough on my back. It was an experience.

I picked this place as a solo traveler and found it quieter and cheaper than many other options, with good security and helpful service. It also works well for short stays, especially if you're a student heading to Okayama University, which is just across the street. There's a hospital and bus stop right outside, and with an ICOCA card you can rent a bicycle from the stand in the hospital area.

I stayed here during quarantine. It was neat, and for a small hotel it had a full set of basics, including Wi-Fi, a microwave, TV, water heater, and hair dryer.

A good apartment-style hotel, with roomy traditional rooms. It worked really well for our family.
