We had a peaceful stay in a comfortable enough standard double room, and our southeast-facing corner room was very quiet. The location is handy, about 1.2 km from Okayama Station or a short bus or tram ride away, and 700 m from Okayama Castle. There's a convenience store nearby and a supermarket 400 m away. The facilities look their age, but everything worked. The room had a TV and fridge. Microwaves are in the spacious main lobby, which has tables and chairs and is large enough to serve as a restaurant, though probably not as luggage storage. The free ice maker and coin-operated washing machines are on another floor. Staff were polite and helpful. The catch is luggage storage. The only option is a paid coin locker in the lobby, with limited availability. After more than two months traveling in Japan, this was the only hotel I'd found that didn't store guests' luggage for free. We were shocked at first to have to pay for a locker.
