Hotel Heisei

The building is old but sturdy. The bathroom and toilet are in one unit, though the toilet and shower are separate. There are plenty of coin laundry machines for the number of rooms. Smoking is only allowed in the designated area outside the entrance. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly good for a place like this, with both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz options. If your device supports the faster 5 GHz connection, you can choose that. All the staff, including at reception, are very kind. Honestly, this might as well be accommodation for people taking the nearby driving school's intensive course. Or maybe it is?

It’s easy to find, and they even provided free lunch boxes in the morning. I stayed several days, and the room was cleaned and the towels changed, so I had a clean place to stay.

When I told the front desk I’d be leaving early and couldn’t have breakfast, they kindly prepared rice balls for me instead. I was grateful for the thoughtful gesture. The hotel itself was a typical business hotel, and I had no problems at all.

There aren’t any convenience stores in the hotel or within a few minutes’ walk, so it’s best to pick up supplies beforehand. Breakfast was nearly the same every day, mostly ready-made items that might cost around 150 yen to prepare. Honestly, it was garbage: for example, a 100-yen pack of five chocolate chip snacks and a 150-yen pack of six raisin buns. The side dish was two small sausages and a little shredded cabbage from a 100-yen pack. Cleaning happens from 9:30 to 14:00, and on days other than Sunday they’ll ask you to leave the hotel. Sometimes the cleaning wasn’t finished on time, either. The room itself was neither good nor bad, but the bathroom and toilet were old, and the key was a regular analog one, not a card. Reception staff weren’t especially friendly, and there were many times when nobody was at the desk. I used the coin laundry, but the detergent sold at the counter was expensive, so I bought some at a pharmacy instead.
