Hotel Route Inn Shinano Omachi Ekimae

The bed and pillows were too firm for us, and we didn’t sleep well. Apart from that, this is a nice, simple hotel near Shinano Omachi station, handy for getting to Alpen Route. The staff are friendly and breakfast is good. There’s free parking behind the hotel for drivers, along with EV chargers. The complimentary coffee and bottle of water were a nice touch.

This modern, easy-to-spot building has the basic amenities you need, including a communal bath. Its location right by the train station is very convenient, especially if you’re setting off on the alpine route. The bus boarding point for Ogizawa is next door.

This was my second stay, and I’m still just as pleased as the first time. The hotel is modern, very clean, and the staff are kind and helpful. Our room was nice, and there are plenty of great dining options within walking distance. The complimentary breakfast buffet is fantastic, so make sure to have some before heading out or checking out. It’s about 30 minutes from the Hakuba Valley ski areas, which are amazing. There’s also a hot spring at the hotel. Just remember that Japanese hot spring etiquette means going in fully nude, without a swimsuit or clothing.

Great location. Shinano Omachi station is just a two-minute walk away, and the highway bus to Ogizawa station is only a minute on foot.
