The owner was so kind and polite, and the service really made the stay. My room was clean, cozy, and a good size for one person. I especially appreciated the fresh green tea each day and the heater being switched on before I got back from skiing. Thank you!
The room was warm and comfortable, with a kotatsu in the middle and a kerosene fan heater. The restroom was clean, and guests can use the shared fridge and microwave. It’s a short walk to a 7-Eleven, and the price starts at just 3,700 yen per person, which is a great deal. I stayed here on my way back from skiing in Hakuba. It’s an old Showa-era inn run by the owner alone, and the facilities are dated, but they were fine for one night. The photo was taken the next morning, so the room looks a bit untidy. I’d stay again if I get the chance.
The owner was great, and I’d recommend this place to climbers or anyone after an inexpensive bed. I stayed the night before climbing Mt. Jijigatake. I usually camp, so having a 7-Eleven just seconds away, a futon to sleep on, and a bath was a welcome change. It’s an old-fashioned mountain inn, right down to the large computers, and there was no Wi-Fi. If you expect the services of a regular inn, this may not be the place for you.
For 4000 yen, the room-only rate included free parking, a shared refrigerator and microwave, and amenities like a hairdryer, yukata, towels, and toothbrush. The inn has a comfortable, nostalgic Showa-era feel, and even the bathroom has old-style tile. I stayed here September 22-23, 2024, before climbing Mt. Tsubakuro. The Nakabusa Onsen route is one of the popular ways into the Northern Alps, but people have to park overnight in their cars and compete fiercely for spaces starting the evening before. I chose to stay here so I could rest properly and skip that pointless scramble. I’d come back if I have the chance to visit Omachi City again.
The owner was friendly and helpful, even though I checked in late. It’s close to Shinano-Omachi Station, and I used it for a basic overnight stay after a mountain climb. My room was just for sleeping and didn’t have a toilet, bath, or refrigerator. The building is old, but the toilet had a bidet, and there was a microwave and fridge in the hallway, so I had no real inconvenience. A lot of guests seem to be here for climbing. For the price, I think it’s a very good place to stay.
