Stay Omihachiman Ekimae Inn

There was plenty of room, parking, and pets were allowed, so we had a fun trip. If they made some improvements, I'd definitely come back. Still, after traveling from Nagoya, the price felt a bit high for the location. The air conditioning was dirty and didn't work well, which made me uneasy. I was relieved it wasn't summer. Cleaning was disappointing too: I washed the dish sponges before using them, since I wish fresh ones were provided each time, and found some slimy stuff on a soup bowl. The futon sheets looked clean, but I didn't dare check inside. The stove on the right side also exploded, and I'm too scared to use it. I think it's broken, so please check it.

I spent a comfortable week here while visiting my hometown. It had two Western-style rooms, one Japanese-style room, a DK, a toilet, a bath, a washroom with washing machine, two TVs, Wi-Fi router, refrigerator, microwave, and a basic set of dishes and cooking utensils.

I came through a friend's introduction and never actually spoke with the host at Guesthouse Omihachiman, though he seems friendly. The room is in an apartment right in front of the station, with a covered inner garage that keeps the car sheltered on rainy days. Friends can share the place while still having privacy, since the washroom, toilet, changing room and bath are all together. Upstairs is a loft-like hideaway, with a display of tasteful handmade work, mostly striking wooden lighting pieces that seem to have no nails. Worth seeing, though they don't appear to be for sale.
