Business Hotel Mayumi

The hallways and stair landings have anime stickers and pencil drawings on the walls, and there are a few manga books around too, which gives the place a lively feel. It's beside Omuta's bar district, so it could suit someone planning to go there. A large shopping center seems to be over a 10-minute walk away, and the hotel also appears close to the station. There's a railroad crossing nearby, but I couldn't hear it or feel any vibration once inside. I slept well despite the thunderstorm, and it didn't really affect my stay. If you're sensitive or tend to worry about things, though, you may want to choose somewhere else.

My motorcycle could be parked under a roof, which I was glad about, and there are six more spaces beside the building. Yume Town is nearby, along with restaurants, convenience stores, and bars. There's karaoke too if you feel like singing.

For my solo train trip, I picked it because it was affordable, within walking distance of a JR station, and I could use Rakuten points. It's not right by the station, though. The basic service and cleanliness were fine for the price, but I got the sense that other places offer the same for less, or do a lot better at the same price.

I stayed in a Western-style room with its own bathroom and toilet in fall 2024. The room was a bit dated, but fine for an overnight stay, and nothing else in particular caused trouble. There was some cigarette smell, though the plan hadn't said it was a non-smoking room, so I could put up with it. Running the air conditioner and bathroom fan helped. The bathroom curtain was dry and moldy, and the towels were soft, which some people may not like. Also, the toothbrush had no toothpaste.
