Ryokan Seifuso

Excellent, 100%.

I come back here often when I’m in the Omuta area. The rooms are old, but they bring back memories of living alone, and somehow they feel cozy and comfortable. 😆😊 On another visit I chose a Japanese-style room, which was really relaxing. For work, this traditional inn feels clean and a bit like being back home. It has a nostalgic Showa-era feel, and although it’s an inn, my first room had a bed. Toilets and baths aren’t in the rooms: the toilets are shared and there’s a large communal bath. Wi-Fi and parking are available. Business hotels are scarce around Omuta, so this feels like one option.

It was a quiet place to rest, and the inn was well maintained. The old-fashioned interior gave me a nostalgic sense of what traditional inns near a train station used to be like.

The room was clean and the price was reasonable. I went in summer, and they’d made the room ice-cold even though I hadn’t asked. The bath and toilet are shared, which is fine if you don’t mind that. For a man, it was perfect, though I can see why the reviews say it might not suit a woman staying alone. The landlady was very kind and helpful, and showed me around the area.
