Okinawa Spa Resort EXES

We had five relaxing days on this beautiful island, with excellent service, especially at reception. I left my small travel backpack in the taxi on the evening we arrived, and the staff handled everything: they found the taxi, called the company, and arranged to get it back. The hotel is in excellent condition, very clean, and furnished with high-quality pieces. We had two large, lovely rooms with luxurious bathrooms and sea views, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast is Japanese-style, but also offers sausages, ham, several egg dishes like scrambled eggs and omelets, cheese, jam, pancakes, and more. We stayed in September and October, when the pool and beach area were quiet and not busy. There was no fee for parasols or sun loungers, and no need to put down towels. Within walking distance there’s a 7/11, Shogun Burger, and a Japanese restaurant with live music from local bands. There’s also a very nice Okinawan/Hawaiian restaurant serving burgers, fish, and meat, with a great atmosphere. One evening we tried the dinner buffet at the partner hotel, connected by a bridge over the street. We really enjoyed the wide selection, and it was very good value at about 5,000 yen per person. A taxi from the airport takes 1-1.5 hours and costs 15,000 yen; the shuttle bus takes 2 hours and costs 2,000 yen per person. This is a true five-star hotel, highly recommended.

The staff didn’t all speak English, which made communication difficult sometimes. Breakfast is listed as running from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., but staff began asking people to leave the restaurant right at 10:00. I’d expect the buffet to close then and guests to be able to finish their coffee and breakfast in peace, but that wasn’t how it went. I never quite understood the reason. Otherwise, it was a very good stay at a great hotel, with a stunning view, big comfortable rooms, and a short walk to a beautiful beach. Those two issues stood out given the five-star rating.

The breakfast at this top-tier luxury hotel was outstanding, and I enjoyed the indoor pool and fitness center so much I didn’t want to leave. The staff are exceptionally friendly and can speak English, and someone is always available to help. If you arrive by car, complimentary valet parking and vehicle preparation are provided. It felt like a true five-star experience. Highly recommended!

The front desk and valet parking staff were especially great, and the customer service overall was top-notch. We enjoyed the breakfast selection and the view from our room. I paid ¥76,000 for a four-night stay in May 2024, including breakfast. The hotel provided valet parking. The hotel is showing its age, and the old furniture could use renovation. Breakfast timing was frustrating. The English guide said the last entry was at 10:00 AM, so I arrived at 9:45. But at 10:10 staff told us the buffet was closing, and we had to rush our meal. The incorrect English translation caused unnecessary frustration. It would have helped if it clearly said breakfast closes at 10:00 AM.
