We stayed in a cottage for three nights and had a great time. The room was clean and roomy, with the essentials, and we could park right by the door. The 7/11 on the main road was only about a 30-second walk away, but it stayed really quiet inside with no road noise. There were lots of ants outdoors, yet we didn’t see a single bug in our room or find that any got in. Check-in was easy using the iPad even though reception is unmanned. The bed felt a little hard, though that seems common in many Japanese hotels. I’d happily stay again.

If you like staying in a dark room, this may suit you, since there was no light in mine. The hotel was built about 30 years ago, and the parking lot can fill up easily. Staff asked me to park 200m away, but I chose to wait instead. A cheap hotel means everything feels cheap.

There isn’t much of a view from the hotel because it sits across the road from the beach, and food around this stretch of hotels and resorts costs more than in most areas. A 7-11 is within walking distance. It was my first time in a camper, and check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The RV had one large bed, one small bed, a microwave, and a toilet with a bathtub, though the tub is only for showering. Laundry costs 300 yen for the washing machine and 100 yen for the dryer.

It was a fun, new experience staying in a trailer-style hotel, and the location was good. Lawson and the bus stops are about a 10-minute walk away, and you can park right outside your trailer. I was surprised it fit a king bed, sofa, fridge, dining area, toilet, and two wash basins. The downside is the bathroom: the toilet and tub make it so cramped that I struggled to get in and out of the bath, and it seems quite impractical for older people. I also found quite a few black ants crawling around the dining area.

There are several restaurants nearby, which made the area fairly convenient even though the hotel is near the highway. The room was nice and the whole property clean. I did have to pay around 500 yen for parking, and I’d expected the beach to be closer based on the hotel’s name.
