Halekulani Okinawa

There isn’t much around the hotel itself, so it’s best if you’re happy relaxing within the resort. We had a good stay and hope to come back. The service was top-notch, as you’d expect at these prices, and both the rooms and views were stunning. We enjoyed the Japanese breakfast at AOMI, but dinner at Kingdom was a letdown. The steak wasn’t close to the quality we expected from a resort at this price.

The staff were professional and helpful everywhere, and their English was very good, if not fluent. The gym and spa were top quality too. I’m already calling this my new favorite place to stay on the island. We had a wonderful Saturday night in Room 0311. It was spacious and beautifully designed, with decor that made it feel calm right away. The shower pressure was STRONG!! We spent time in the adults-only Oceanside pool, then had drinks at Sunset bar and dinner at Shiroux. I couldn’t be happier with the stay.

The weather wasn’t great, and the outdoor pools and beach had just closed from 12.1, but I’d love to come back in summer for the pools. There were welcome drinks, and pool staff prepared a chair and helped cover my tattoo. At checkout, the caring valet brought my car and left bottles of water inside. Everyone from valet to restaurant staff was meticulous and kind. Breakfast buffet had fresh pineapple and melon, and the Kona coffee was awesome. Five-star service!!!!

From check-in through checkout, the guest experience felt carefully thought out, and we enjoyed every minute. We’ll definitely come back. The staff were cheerful and seemed happy to be there, with attentive service everywhere that never felt intrusive. Whenever we were at the pool or beach, someone greeted us, set up the beach chairs, and brought fresh towels and ice-cold water. Life jackets and other gear were free to borrow at the beach. We’d reserved a coconut birthday cake ahead of time, and it was really tasty. This is the best resort hotel we’ve stayed at in Japan. The room was spacious and we loved the amenities. We tried every breakfast restaurant and the steakhouse for dinner. The food was good enough, but it was the weaker part of the experience and nothing wowed us.
