&And Hostel Hommachi East

After a rough travel day, staying at &And Hostel Hommachi turned out to be a great experience for the price. Our flight from Okinawa was delayed by almost an hour, then the subway had a technical delay, so we knew we'd miss the usual check-in time and thought there might be an after-hours fee. There wasn't. The friendly, patient staff member asked for one proof of the delay, then said we were fine and didn't need to pay extra. The room was clean and nice, just right for somewhere to rest for a night or a couple of days.

For a tight budget, this place is decent value, with basics in the room like a sink, fridge, hair blower, and bedding. The staff were friendly, though the service could feel more professional, and the atmosphere at night was a bit unsettling. The shared bathrooms are what you'd expect at a hostel, but the shower temperature kept changing. My sleep also suffered because the mattress topper and blankets were thin and I could feel the springs. You get what you pay for, but the comfort could be better.

The common area was great for reading or hanging out, and I met a couple of friends there. The hostel has lots of facilities, and the room deals are amazing, especially if you book ahead. During my two nights in osaka, the staff gave me recommendations and guides so the trip wouldn't feel boring. They were some of the best staff I've met, welcoming me warmly and having lovely conversations with me. I loved this place and will miss my osaka trip. When I return, I'll 100% stay here again.

The staff were really friendly and glad to suggest things to do around the city. I had a private room with a private bathroom thanks to a complimentary upgrade, and it was clean and comfortable. There's a well-equipped kitchen and laundry machines, too. Osaka Castle and transport options are within walking distance, so it's a great base for sightseeing.
