Bentencho station is nearby on the JR Osaka Loop Line, which made it easy to get around. I stayed five nights and came back to a freshly cleaned bed each day. The common areas and the rest of the place were clean and smelled good. Mathieu was a great host, available throughout the day if anything came up. I’d keep the booking app on your phone so you can contact him if needed. It took me a moment to spot the place, but look for the small "Welcome" sign and the Auberge du Tanuki Noir sign at the top of the building. I met guests from several countries and enjoyed chatting with them. For laundry, there’s a place four minutes away. Search for "coin laundry" in Japanese, then use Google Maps to find it.

We had a really pleasant week here. The host was very courteous, and the rooms and shared spaces stayed clean the whole time. It’s a five-minute walk from a well-connected JR station.

Breakfast was really good for the price, and the guesthouse itself was very affordable. It’s small and close to the Loopline, but well maintained, with everything looking new and very clean. Definitely recommend it.

The owner was great, and I loved the vibe. It’s very clean and well looked after, a perfect spot for traveling around Japan alone or with a partner. I’d recommend it to anyone.
