Catalyst Art Hotel

I’ve stayed here twice during my time in Japan, and both visits were great. The bed pods are comfortable, with their own lights, fans, and plugs. Towels, razors, and toothbrushes are free if you need them. It’s one of the nicest, most modern hostels I’ve stayed in. I also had a few beers at the bar and really enjoyed chatting with the staff. Everyone was wonderful, especially Ree, Yuna, and Eiko. Keep it up! :)

Only about a three-minute walk from Shinsaihashi, this was a great capsule hostel for exploring Osaka. My stay was half price through Rakuten Travel. The capsules were clean, quiet, and smelled nice, and there’s a bar on the lobby floor. The staff were friendly and spoke fluent English. A couple of things for travelers: personal care items are available to rent if you didn’t bring your own. If you’re tall, you might prefer asking for an upper bed.

The hostel sits just off the main street, so it’s quieter, and it’s pretty picturesque inside. The beds were comfortable even for a hefty fellow like me. I’d bring your own towels, though, since renting them here is rather expensive.

For my Osaka trip, I booked this Rakuten Stay hostel through Air BnB. It’s a very clean, nice place, about a five-minute walk from the Shinsaibashi and dontobori shopping district. I’d highly recommend it to anyone planning a holiday in Osaka.
