The area was a decent, quieter corner of a busy district, near a laundromat and several conbinis. But we checked out about an hour after checking in, once we found another hotel in Dotonbori. The hallways were dark and dingy, and there was only one small, poky lift. The room and bathroom had a strange smell. There were two of us in a twin room, but we got just one keycard. The door lock was temperamental and hard to work, which made us feel unsafe. They only clean rooms for stays longer than four days, and the first clean happens then. For fresh towels, you have to leave the used ones in a basket in the hallway and go to reception to get replacements. I don’t think the 3-star rating represents the place well. I’d call it 1.5 or 2 stars, and wouldn’t choose it again.
