Fourz Hotel Kintetsu Osaka-Namba

After a few days in capsule accommodation, I chose this hotel near Namba station for my last night so the airport trip would be convenient. It was one of the highest rated nearby, and I was glad I picked it. I arrived well before the 3 pm check-in, so I left my luggage in the self-service area, chaining the bags together with a numerical lock. After a day trip to Nara, I went to check in. I expected to use a machine because no counter staff were visible, but a female staff member came over, apparently spotting me on CCTV, and made the process seamless. There was a JPY300 tax to pay, as stated on my Agoda booking. The room was much bigger than I expected, clean and well equipped, with everything necessary and a voice-controlled Alexa assistant. I booked for one, but there were two sets of pajamas and face and body towels. Two carrier bags were provided for taking essentials to the public baths on level 15. There’s no bath tub in the room, but the public bath was clean and well maintained. When I visited in the evening, there were at most three other guests. Checkout at 10 am went just as smoothly. I handed my keycard to a staff member, left my bags in storage again and did some last minute shopping. Remember to pick up amenities in the lobby, from drinks to toiletries like face cream. The hotel is a stone’s throw from Namba station, with a 7-11 opposite, and less than a 10 minute brisk walk to Dotonbori.

The location is great, and for the price the room wasn’t bad. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the lockers let you leave luggage safely before check-in or after checkout. I stayed three nights in a double twin room. The separate toilet and shower were inconvenient, especially because the toilet room has no sink. To wash my hands, I had to touch the door, cross the room and open another door with dirty hands. There was only one pillow as well.

It’s well placed in Namba, and we enjoyed our stay. The room was modern and clean, though small, with free amenities and pajamas. The toilet and shower are in separate rooms. Luggage space is tight because there’s no under-bed storage. We had one large suitcase and no carry-ons, and can’t imagine fitting much more. I believe the room was 18 m2.

This was my third stay, and it was clean, spacious and nice again. The location is really convenient, close to the train station and shopping like Dondonburi. I’ll definitely come back and highly recommend giving it a try. 👍🫰😉
