Grampus Inn Osaka Namba

The location worked well, just a few minutes from Namba Station Exit 5 if you can find your way out of the underground. But the elevator was a constant problem. I was right beside the shaft, and there was banging noise day and night, maybe a loose cable hitting the wall. It got really annoying. I tried telling myself it might be distant temple bells, though I don't think Shinto Buddhist temples ring metal bells. The internet was also basically gone most mornings. The front desk blamed people checking out. Sure. Stay away from the elevator, and only book here if you can't find a better option.

Coming back after a full day of walking around Japan was always relaxing. My room stayed very clean, the air conditioning worked great, and housekeeping did a good job. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and spoke good English. I stayed about a week and a half, and the room was great for the price. I'd book here again in a heartbeat if I return to Osaka.

The receptionists were friendly and the location was great, but I only lasted one night. My room felt dirty, the decor was old, and the bed and mattress were poor quality and uncomfortable. There were stains on the sheet too.

I've stayed in much better places for the same price. The bathroom had so much mold, and the whole place came across as dingy and dirty.
