Green Hill Hotel Tennoji Ekimae

It’s a small, older hotel, but it was very clean and comfortable. I picked it because it was easy to reach from Tennoji Station, and I was glad to see other people had the same impression. The staff were considerate without hovering, which I really appreciated, and I’d stay again if I’m in the area. I ran out of time to try the first-floor cafe’s breakfast, though it looked delicious. Next time I’d like to have some. The atmosphere definitely made it look tasty, lol.

Getting here is easy, just a five-minute walk from Tennoji Station, and the staff were very polite and helpful. The problem was the paper-thin room walls. I could hear the people next door farting and feel the vibrations from their LINE calls as if we were in the same room, which made me uneasy.

The room I got had previously been used for smoking. They’d changed the wallpaper, but a faint nicotine smell still lingered. It faded after I took a bath. The room was well cleaned, the AC worked fine, and I slept for a full 10 hours. The bed springs are firm. For the price, it’s a good spot just a few minutes from Tennoji Station exits 4-6, close to Tennoji Zoo and the Municipal Museum of Art. I’d especially recommend it if you’re visiting for the current Touken Ranbu collaboration. The older staff were gentle and polite, and they put my luggage in my room before check-in. The older facilities and locks may explain the lower price, though the air conditioner and washlet seemed updated. You have to leave your key when going out, which can be a hassle. The side table has one free outlet and a USB port. The Wi-Fi password is posted at reception and in the elevators, but having it in the room would be handy too. Station access is easy, with an escalator at Exit 4 and an elevator close to the platform.

They let me into my room even though I arrived half an hour before the 3 pm check-in. The building and rooms have a Showa-era look, but everything was clean and comfortable. The service was good, and I was very satisfied with the affordable stay.
