The restaurant on the lobby floor stood out to me. The owner’s vision comes through in the renovation, the chef trained in Italy, and the dishes were beautifully made. Dessert from the pastry chef made a bold, memorable finish to the course. The hotel also feels calm, with spotless spaces and elegant background music. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with a more home-like feel than I expected from a Holiday Inn. The bathroom and toilet are separate, unlike the compact combined units common in many hotels. Suite-style rooms have bathtubs, while standard rooms have showers only, but having a separate toilet meant that wasn’t a problem for me. Shin Osaka Station is a little far away, though the free shuttle makes the trip easy. I’d consider making this a regular Osaka stay. The attentive staff and facilities are something the owner can be proud of, and it changed my impression of the Holiday Inn category.

The staff were friendly and really helpful. They even walked me through sending my luggage from the hotel to my next hotel in Tokyo. There’s a Lawson's and a pharmacy across the street, and the shuttle van to and from Shin-Osaka Station runs every 20 minutes. You can walk too, but we used the shuttle each day because it was so convenient. We had a very comfortable stay here in April, and I’d gladly come back.

The front desk, bus driver, and housekeeping team were all friendly and professional. The gym and laundry room were useful, and the free shuttle every 20 minutes made things easy. Shin Osaka Station is also about a 15-minute walk away. My room was basic but clean, and I preferred the walk-in shower to the bathtub-shower setups that can be slippery. The soundproofing on the lower floors was poor, though. I could hear sirens and traffic at night, which disturbed my sleep. I stayed for over a week, and breakfast was exactly the same each day. Some more variety would have been nice.

From the room there were good views, and convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes were nearby. The shuttle to and from Shin-Osaka was handy, and the front desk team was helpful. They recognized us as Platinum Elite members, which was a nice touch, and let us know the gym was temporarily closed for maintenance. There was construction going on in the main lobby, with areas roped off and a lot of loud banging during our stay. Bags were also piled in front of the elevators and around the lobby, so a dedicated storage room could help. The in-room Bluetooth speaker wasn’t working. The front desk hadn’t known about it until I mentioned it, then the facility manager confirmed the problem. Even with those issues, we had a great stay.

My mother left a sentimental personal item behind, and the staff went out of their way to keep it safe and help me send it internationally. I really appreciate that. The rooms were small but very tidy, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. We had a nice stay at Holiday Inn & Suites Shin Osaka.
