The location is hard to beat, and we had a pleasant stay. I was worried by some negative reviews at first, but our three nights in December with a friend turned out amazing. We had the double bunk bed room. Staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The shared bathroom was clean and organized, with most essentials provided. The public areas were clean and nicely decorated. We noticed the musty smell only when we paid close attention; it didn't bother us much, especially in an older building. The beds weren't the softest, but were comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. I expected more noise because it's near Dotonbori, but there wasn't much. There were just a few random shouts from drunk (?) people around midnight. The WiFi was more frustrating: networks on the upper floors were almost unusable. A tip, the main network on the first floor was stable.

It was okay, though I was surprised they didn't provide even a basic towel. A few things I'd change: 1) Add lockers for luggage. 2) Don't allow shoes inside the rooms. 3) People traveling alone should be considerate and keep quiet in the room, especially around people resting or asleep. If you want to chat with a friend or make a call, please go outside and use some basic manners. 4) Set a cleaning period, for example from 11 AM to 1 PM, when guests can't stay in the rooms so the place can be kept hygienic.

The location was handy, with shops and restaurants close by, and the staff were polite. I stayed one night. The rooms were clean enough, but felt cramped and lacked privacy or much atmosphere. The shared bathrooms were tiny, as the sink in the photo shows. Facilities in general were basic and a bit worn. It did the job as a cheap place to sleep, but felt more like a quick stop than somewhere to properly rest and recharge. I probably wouldn't stay longer than one night.

This was my final accommodation in Japan. Goodbye The owner was kind, polite, and helpful. Even though he wasn't there when I arrived late in the evening, he had put up instruction signs from the entrance all the way to the bed, which was great. When I first entered the room, it smelled bad, like someone's socks or something similar. By the time I went to bed, the smell was gone and I slept peacefully. The WiFi is set up by floor, so the ground-floor connection drops when you go upstairs. You need to switch to that floor's network, though the password stays the same. A little inconvenient, but okay.

The one clear plus was the convenient location, close to shops and transport. The low price made sense after staying there. A foul smell filled the building, and the retro decor seemed to hide how worn out it was. The washrooms especially could have been cleaner. Thinly insulated rooms let in a lot of noise at night, and with the awful smell I couldn't rest at all. Door locks were falling apart, and the staff seemed unfriendly.
