Hotel Alpha-One Kita-Shinsaibashi

There’s plenty to see right outside the hotel, and Dotonbori is close by too. The rooms were really nice.

They let me leave my luggage before check-in, which was helpful. Breakfast was a nice deal for the price, with bread, some salad and drinks. The amenities were a good selection, and the hotel was as expected for a business stay. It was reasonably priced thanks to an offer. The only downside was the walk from the station.

The hotel seems to pay attention to guests’ little needs. I was on the 7th floor and used the microwave just outside the elevator. There were several toasters at breakfast, so people could use them easily, and you could take drinks back to your room. Breakfast was light, with six kinds of bread, salad, coffee and soup. My room was very clean, and the staff were so polite, even their bows felt respectful. I’d like to come back.

I paid 6,300 yen a night through an external booking site, plus a 200 yen accommodation tax each night. The hotel felt well balanced, with clean facilities that show little wear despite being open for over six years. My room was a reasonable size for one person. Amenities are collected in the lobby, while most other items are already in the room. There are also vending machines, an ice maker and a microwave in the elevator lobby. The room wear is a one-piece style. Breakfast on the second floor is bread and salad, with six bread options, some of them changing each day. A vending machine has coffee and other drinks, and there were three soups. Nearby, the commercial district has plenty of restaurants and bars open late. The location works for sightseeing or business, with access to various areas, though it takes about 7-8 minutes to walk from Shinsaibashi, Honmachi or Sakaisuji-Honmachi stations. Kita-Shinsaibashi is north of Shinsaibashi and south of the other two. The Senba Shinsaibashi-suji arcade is close, and with a bit of route planning you can stay fairly dry on rainy days.
