The room was a little dated, though clean and practical, so that’s why I took off a star. It was spacious, quiet despite the noisy area, and had a massage chair and a jacuzzi bath in the shower room. The woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We were right near Namba, Dotonbori, lots of food and shops, plus a Lawson's around the corner. We’d come after a bad stay at another nearby hotel and wished we’d chosen this one first. I’d stay here again.

Hotel Alps staff saved the rest of our Japan trip. My wife and I realized on our way to Sendai that we’d left our nice jackets in the closet. We called as soon as we arrived, and the hotel confirmed they’d found them and shipped them to our new hotel for next day delivery. The jackets arrived the next day. That’s 10/10 customer service. The rooms and bathrooms were very nice too. We’ll likely stay here again when we’re back in Osaka.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The location was great, and the place had a real retro 90s luxury charm. It was better than I expected.

I booked through Expedia a few days ago, then my plans changed and I wanted to cancel or change the reservation. They wouldn’t let me. The booking page said it was fully refundable, but after I paid, the confirmation email called it non-refundable. That feels like a scam.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, just stopped by for dinner while a friend was visiting Osaka. It’s near central Namba, with lots of places to eat and a great evening atmosphere.
