HOTEL ELEMENT (Adult Only)

I tried to use a couples coupon on the S room, even though it said it was valid for all rooms. The front desk told me it only applied to the room listed on the coupon, which was frustrating. When I asked which room that meant, they said one costing around 9,000 yen, so using the coupon wouldn't make much sense. Hotel Element said the coupon had its own rules even when no room was specified. The staff member handling it was elderly, and I wondered if they might not have been properly trained. If the rules really have changed, that's a shame, since the coupons worked for all rooms as recently as six months ago.

The room was small but clean, and there were plenty of amenities, so I could relax during my stay. I was there alone late at night in the middle of a three-day weekend, and few rooms were left, so I'd reluctantly booked a fairly expensive one. At the desk, they offered a slightly cheaper room that would be ready in about 10 minutes, specifically mentioning that I was a woman traveling alone. I appreciated the consideration. The only thing that bothered me was a bathroom light flickering like a fluorescent tube about to go out, though I may not have been using it correctly. The service was excellent, and I had a pleasant stay. Thank you.

I paid for an S-class room, supposedly the top category, but it didn't really feel like one. The queen-size bed was fine, and the bathtub and sauna were good. The refrigerator was tiny, about 10cm high, 45cm wide, and 10cm deep. The karaoke setup was inconvenient too: it only had equipment up to 2010, and only the audio and microphone worked. For the price it was worth it, but the room was disappointing for an S-class.

I left feeling irritated, not refreshed at all. Paying ¥15,980 for this dilapidated shack feels ridiculous when even a remote love hotel at ¥4800 seems much better. I won't stay at this place again.
