HOTEL GRACERY Osaka Namba

The room style feels a little dated, but the space is generous and makes up for that. The beds were comfortable, and the huge bath was welcome after a day of walking. It's also well located for trains and shopping. The carpet rug was stained, so I think they should just remove it. Even so, it was good value.

I've been to Osaka more than ten times, and for the price this is the best place I've found. From outside it looked old and I wasn't keen, but I changed my mind once I got in. The room was bigger than a typical small Japanese hotel room, with a sofa, table, refrigerator, and even a kimono gown. The bathroom was the largest I've seen in a Japanese hotel. The toilet was in its own separate area with a door, and the drinking fountain and washbasin were separate too. The staff were friendly and spoke a little English. On the sixth floor there are hot springs, a microwave, and forks, spoons, and chopsticks. The facilities were amazing. The products in the quiet open-air bath smelled great and seemed good quality. There were different hair accessories for women and products for removing makeup. If you change into the kimono gown in your room before going up, you don't need to bring anything. Dotonbori is about 5 to 8 minutes away, convenience stores are nearby, and the location felt safe and convenient. I highly recommend visiting.

The subway entrance is literally right outside, with a department store and supermarket across the street. The staff were polite and the room was clean. By Western standards it’s small, like many Japanese hotel rooms, but two people and two pieces of luggage fit well enough to move around. The bed was a bit hard, and there's no safe. The AC worked great, and there was a mini fridge with free bottled water. Comfortable stay, I'd recommend it.

The rooms are well kept, and there are several convenience stores nearby. The hotel itself is old, and I wouldn't recommend using its bath: the water looked a bit yellow and smelled a little rusty 😅. The rooftop bath, though, was amazing and a good alternative. The location is very good.
