Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. There’s free coffee in the lobby after 6 am. Laundry machines are on the 24th floor, and you can check their status on the TV in your room, which was handy. Our room was a little small, but we made it work. We loved how many dining and shopping options were in the same building. Train stations are close by, and Shin Osaka, where you catch the shinkansen, is just four stops away on the Midosuji line. My wife and I would gladly stay again. Thank you, Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka.

The rooms were large and upgraded compared with the other hotels I stayed in Japan, and the modern amenities were great. I also liked the self-service laundry: the machines wash and dry in one, accept IC cards, coins, and other payment apps, and the TV in your room shows how much time is left. There are great places to eat and shop nearby, and the train station is close. A lovely place to stay, highly recommended.

There are lots of shops in the building, so we could keep shopping, and plenty of choices on the 7th floor besides the hotel restaurant. The metro stations are very close, though it was easy to lose our direction 😅 It’s clean, right in the heart of Umeda, and the large room came at a competitive rate. We found it a good place to stay as a family. Just leave time for the lifts, especially during busy hours, when you may need to time your trip to the lobby. I’d consider staying here again on another Osaka visit.

The location made getting to Nara and Kyoto easy, with the hotel right by the train station. It’s inside a department store, so a few floors down there’s a huge food selection and lots of shopping. Despite being on a busy street, the hotel was quiet. We appreciated the free chilled water in the hallway and the vending machines. The view was impressive, although it may not suit anyone afraid of heights. The hotel is enormous, and check-in took a while. Service was good. We booked about eight days as part of a short road trip. The room was clean and modern, but small. The toilet had a bad smell and what looked like old blood stains on the floor. Carpet in a bathroom felt very unsanitary. The bathroom and shower were otherwise nice, though I noticed buildup behind the sink that seemed to have been missed, plus quite a lot of limescale in the shower. The air conditioning was a real bother. We tried different settings, but it stayed so cold we had to turn it off, partly because it blew straight at our faces. We weren’t fully satisfied with the room, but can still recommend the hotel.
