Rakuten STAY URBAN Osaka Higobashi

The room on the seventh floor was quiet, sufficiently spacious, and well equipped, with futons. There’s also a small dining room for guests with a coffee machine and tea bags. We stayed a few nights in July to visit the Osaka Expo. We arrived at 12:30 PM, too early to check in, but they let us leave our luggage while we went to lunch and walked around.

The room was clean and tidy, though a little pricey. The futons were comfortable for me, but my roommate’s back didn’t agree. The shower had excellent pressure. The toilet area was tight for someone my height, and if I leaned too far forward I’d hit my head on the small sink. The mirror was mounted for shorter people, so I had to crouch to see my face. It’s tucked away on smaller city streets, which gives the area a cozy feel. Overall, a nice, comfortable-feeling hotel. I’d book again.

We just needed somewhere for one night while passing through Osaka, and this business hotel did the job. It’s not too far from the main Osaka/Umeda station. The rooms are small but laid out well, with a private bathroom and separate private toilet. There’s AC in the room, and the bathroom and toilet were clean. The common room has tables, free tea and coffee, a good espresso machine, TB, and manga. The floor mattress was thin, which made the bed too hard. The light smelled of cigarettes, though running the AC cleared it. We couldn’t open the window.

The room was clean and thoughtfully put together, and the blackout curtains worked incredibly well. The staff were so kind and helpful. Train stations are close by.
