The location is great, and the baths are a nice amenity. My room was small, though, and had clumps of dust here and there. Breakfast options weren’t great. I booked at morning box from Thursday to Sunday, three nights for 40,000 yen. Some rooms don’t have showers, and guests are told to use the public baths, but only during their opening hours, 6:30-10:00 and 16:00-02:00. So if you want to sleep in and shower after 10 a.m., or come back late and shower during the night, you can’t. They didn’t mention this when I booked or checked in. Staff were generally friendly, but reception really needs someone with better English for guest comfort. The sauna is cool, but it’s only for men, and screws sticking out of the wood can burn you. The faucet for rinsing the sauna mats was broken, so I had to rinse from the shower area to avoid pimples. I travel quite a bit and was disappointed. It feels like they’re trying to be fancy, but too many details don’t meet expectations. I wouldn’t really recommend it.

We booked two rooms for four people and told customer service that three of us had an early flight and asked if breakfast could be prepared to take away. They said only two people could get takeout because one person in the other room wasn’t checking out yet. It was just bread, so that policy felt stingy. Really lousy customer service. Never coming back.

The room was a decent size and had everything we needed for a couple of nights in Osaka. We had a double room with a private bathroom, with a 7-11 just a few doors away and the subway a little farther along. The small onsen was nice after a day of walking. As someone with coeliac disease, I appreciated finding an option that worked for me. Gluten-free food, especially at breakfast, can be hard to find in Japan, and the avocado toast was really good.

The train station is very convenient to reach, and there’s a nice coffee shop on the first floor. The onsen was a good feature and was the only place to shower. We were on the seventh floor, where the room used central air conditioning. With five people in there it got hot, and we had trouble sleeping well.
