Hotel Raizan South

The price was very cheap, but dealing with the cockroach and dirty surroundings still wasn’t worth the stress. We found one in our room, and the helpful staff moved us to another. The rooms are very dirty, and the shared showers, which are only on the ground floor, are quite dirty too and have no curtains. It’s an old, strange hotel. The location is good and the staff are nice, those are the only positives I could see. They’re planning renovations, so maybe things will improve.

The location is great, and the price is really good compared with other hotels. Check-in is available around the clock, which is pretty rare in this area. The room works for one person but may feel too small for two.

I felt at home here from the start. As a woman traveling alone who doesn’t speak Japanese, I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The staff are wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. There’s a great bath, vending machines, and other essentials for sale at the hotel, plus free bicycle rental. Train stations and bus stops are very close, and many attractions, shops, restaurants, and entertainment spots are within walking distance. For the price, this is one of the best places I’ve stayed anywhere. I’m looking forward to coming back when I return to Osaka.

The atmosphere here was lovely. Our room for three was quite spacious. There was a bit of dust behind the bed, but the beds and linens were clean. The onsen was okay, with shower gel and shampoo but no conditioner, and the bath water was very hot. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sauna there too. Downstairs on the first floor, there’s a kitchen with free morning coffee and a coin laundry. The reception has free face wash, creams, lotions, and disposable slippers, though the slippers were too thin for me, so I’d bring your own. Snacks, detergent, and chargers are sold there at reasonable prices. It wasn’t the cleanest or prettiest hotel we’ve stayed in, but the atmosphere was pleasant.
