A very cheap option that works well for groups, and the area has restaurants, convenience stores and laundromats if the washing machine isn’t enough. Just keep expectations in check: you get what you pay for, and the usual hotel services aren’t there. They didn’t feel especially necessary to me, though. Good place!

The building is old, with narrow stairs and no elevator, so it’s not a good fit for a family with lots of luggage or a stroller. It may suit younger travelers looking for a cheap place. Smoke smell lingered around us all day, and even our clothes and bags carried that thirdhand smell home. A cleaner had opened the window to air out the room, and although we shut it as soon as we noticed at check-in, we spent the first night with a lot of mosquitoes.

Conveniently located near Tennoji station, and the room was clean and quiet. The room service wasn’t very good, but for the price it was okay.
