JAKOTEL Plus Namba

After a long flight, I found the rooms and bathrooms very clean, with just what I needed. They held my luggage for me, and having toothpaste, towels, and pajamas available saved me. The people were very friendly.

I've stayed here four times and had a great experience each time. It's super clean, even in the tiniest cracks, and the free pajamas meant I didn't have to pack sleepwear. I highly recommend it.

Getting through the self check-in is a bit of a faff, but after that it’s all good. The capsule rooms are surprisingly spacious, and everything on my third floor women’s level was clean. There’s a toilet on every floor, I believe, but only two showers for men and two for women, down on the bottom floor, which isn't convenient. Lockers are on the second floor and in some rooms higher up because of limited space. Many people had suitcases too big to fit, so if you're bringing a large one, or your assigned locker is on the first floor, expect trips back and forth to pack and unpack. The lockers match your assigned capsule. It seemed safe to leave things there, but I felt better keeping my shoes and bags in the lockers on my own floor.

The staff helped me sort out a booking date issue and reschedule kindly and smoothly, even though there’s no front desk and they work behind the scenes. That made a great impression. The hostel is clean, well organized, and thoughtfully run, with fresh towels, good shampoo and soap, slippers, pajamas, and free drinks in the second-floor kitchen. I also appreciated the security hammers around the residential areas. It’s a short walk from Namba and close to several train stations, with a lively fish market just two minutes away. The neighborhood has plenty of energy but felt safe at night. Bedding was clean, though the futon was a little firm. You have to put the blanket in its cover yourself, which is part of the charm. A comfortable, convenient place with character.
