DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. Zero stars. They lied to us and tried to cheat us. A translator told me one thing on the phone, but when we arrived they said something different. After we booked, they changed the listing so we could no longer use a credit card. They demanded cash, saying their machine was broken. They had agreed to cover the ATM and international fees, then denied it when we got there. Then they claimed the room we had already reserved and confirmed was mysteriously unavailable, leaving us with nowhere to stay. The staff had a terrible attitude and talked badly about us right in front of us, apparently thinking we couldn’t understand. This was after they’d copied our passports, and who knows what they’ll do with that.

The rooms were very clean and new, and when we had to move at short notice because our previous hotel’s air conditioning was broken and it was very hot, staff responded quickly and were friendly. But it was very expensive for the location and what we got, and we had no other choice. The area and building felt a bit unclean and slightly dodgy. Our family room was advertised with a balcony but didn’t have one. There was no breakfast or washing machine, despite the charge being 72,000 yen for four nights, nearly 1,000 AUD, cash only.

The booking process was okay, though replies online were a little slow. The main issue was the hotel being next to a red-light district, which wasn’t suitable for a family with kids. We were asked to keep quiet at night because there are residential neighbors next door, but music and noise from the pub or karaoke place beside us continued all night.

The room was comfortable, and everything else was good. The location was a bit of a turn-off since it’s near pubs. Also, remember to ask the front desk about the washers and dryers.
