The staff were friendly and could speak with you in English. The rooms have the basics you need, including an electric kettle, toothbrush, hairdryer and AC, but there’s no safe locker. It’s a good hotel in downtown Osaka, about ten minutes from Dotonbori. If it’s your first trip to Japan, the rooms may seem small, though that’s the usual size here.

The rooms are spacious and the service is great. They provide plenty of amenities, including body sponges, toothpaste and toothbrushes. The shower kept switching between hot and cold even with a set temperature, and the WiFi was a bit slow. Aside from those issues, we had a great stay at The New Osaka hotel, which is very close to Dotonbori.

Clean hotel with a nice breakfast. Reception is open late, and there are basic amenities and drinks in the lobby. The nearby shopping and food streets are easy to reach on foot.

Comfortable, clean, and stocked with plenty of amenities. The convenience store is very close, and Dotonbori is a short walk away. I’d stay again. Just two small gripes: the bathroom smelled a little, probably because of old plumbing, and the hallway sometimes smelled like cigarettes.

I was disappointed by the different answers I got from the front desk about help making a restaurant booking. The restaurant doesn’t take online reservations, and I don’t speak Japanese, so I asked a female staff member for help between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM on the morning of March 28. She was kind and willing to call, but the restaurant hadn’t opened yet. I came back around 6:00 PM to follow up and spoke with another female staff member. She said the hotel didn’t provide that kind of service and suggested I book online myself, even after I explained that online booking wasn’t possible. Since the morning staff had been willing to help, the inconsistency was disappointing. I think a simple request like this should be supported, especially for guests who don’t speak the local language.
