The manager was very kind, and the location right by Tennoji Station is handy if you need the train. I stayed three nights while passing through Osaka, though I wouldn’t choose it again. The bunk beds felt like they might fall apart whenever I shifted around, and the pillows were paper thin. Shared-room washrooms didn’t seem to get cleaned often, and wallpaper was coming off the walls. The elevator was already reported out of order in reviews from a year earlier, and it still wasn’t working in February 2023. The building seems to be falling apart, and the owner doesn’t seem interested in putting money into it. I don’t understand the reviews calling this a comfortable stay. I’d stay somewhere else.

We were lucky to get a room for all five of us, and it was 1,900 yen per night. The staff handled service and management really well. It’s a normal hostel experience, though I didn’t like seeing residents smoke in front of the building. It takes about five minutes to walk from the subway. If you’re on a budget and have stayed in hostels before, this place is acceptable. For a first hostel stay, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

The rooms are extremely small, and there’s no air conditioning, so the smell is terrible. It’s also far from the main strip, and the elevators are broken. Be aware and avoid booking here. If you want a recommendation, try hostel Q. Its staff are friendly, and it’s much more responsive and cleaner than this place.

The check-in lady was friendly, and the location is convenient, but the room was plainly dirty. There was trash everywhere, with lots of hair and dirt on the sheets. I asked the front desk, and they insisted it had been cleaned. Even after the man saw it and picked up a few bits of rubbish, he kept saying he’d cleaned it and that “it’s a hostel”. Walking around in socks was a mistake, since I kept feeling stuff sticking to the carpet. Agoda’s room photos showed bunk beds. What we got was a thin mattress straight on the floor.
