The beds are uncomfortable, so this may not suit people with bad backs. I had back pain and was kindly allowed to check out early and get a refund. The staff were very helpful, and the location and price were great. The others I travelled with had a good stay too. There’s a shower inside the shared room, but guests aren’t allowed to use it after 11:30. The rule is a bit hard to enforce, and the shower did wake me up.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable with air conditioning that works well. It’s quiet but close enough to walk to the main attractions or take the subway. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hot water are provided. You can wash and dry laundry for 500 yen, and I’d still recommend staying here. It’s a relaxed place. The communal areas can get cluttered and aren’t kept very clean. Shoes are left all over the doorway, and the shared kitchen has limited cutlery and bowls if you want to cook your own meals.

Dotonbori was close enough to walk to, and the front desk man was warm and helpful. He even showed me how to work the laundry machines. My twin room was small, but I had room to unpack and unwind, and it was clean and comfortable. After a hot day outside, being able to turn up the AC felt great. It had everything I needed. I’d gladly come back.

The station being right nearby was the one good thing. The place smelled stale all through the building, including our room, and the odor clung to our clothes. I couldn’t tell if it came from everyone taking off shoes in the lobby or the garbage kept by the elevator, but it made the place feel uncomfortable and unsanitary. The bedding looked dirty too. The welcome was strange and chilly. Two girls stared at me when I came in, like I might be in the wrong place, and check-in was brief to the point of being uncomfortable. For about the same money, I think you can find much better value. This was probably the worst place I’ve stayed.
