We paid about $35 a night for a private room with four bunks, for three of us. It’s a very clean, affordable hostel, and everything looked new, though I couldn’t tell if it was newly built or renovated. The sheets and soap are included, and you can rent towels. There isn’t much space to lounge in the room or lobby, but for the price, that didn’t bother me. The subway is easy to reach, and you can walk to attractions around Dotombori. It’s a good pick if you mainly need somewhere clean and cheap to sleep and shower. If you want a place to hang out or use a kitchen, you may want to look elsewhere.

I liked that guests could help themselves to drinks, including coffee, lemon tea, green tea, lemon juice, and tap water. My twin room felt like a regular hotel room, and the hostel itself was nice. There’s no bathroom in the room, though. Two shared bathrooms, one for men and one for women, seemed sufficient as long as everyone didn’t shower at once.

I can’t understand the high rating. There’s no private toilet, and only two showers and one toilet for six or seven rooms, so more than ten people are sharing the facilities. You can hear people laughing in the next room, and it’s really hard to communicate in English with the front desk. I even heard people talking about how to escape this place. I’d rather pay a little extra to stay somewhere better.

We got what we needed for this trip. The room was modern, comfortable, and nicely lit, and the whole place was clean. The staff were always smiling, polite, and very helpful. Daikokucho station is just a three-minute walk away.

It was great having two Family Mart stores just a minute away, and the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. We arrived before check-in, and they stored our luggage for us. The lobby also had free coffee and tea all day, which I loved. I found this hostel at the last minute and paid only $86 for five nights over New Year’s, leaving us more money for food and shopping. Daikokucho station is very convenient, one stop from Namba, with Dotonbori about five minutes away for shopping. Nankai trains to the airport leave from Namba too. There are shared toilets and bathrooms on each floor, with free shampoo and soap, but towels cost extra. With big bags, use exit 6 at Daikokucho station for the elevator. Without luggage, exits 3-4 are closer to the hostel.
